Community Breast cancer awareness, education and screening in all regions of Ghana. We need your support.
Since early diagnosis is crucial for improving survival rates among women with breast cancer, over the past twelve years, Breast Care International in collaboration with Peace and Love Hospitals have been conducting BCI outreach programs in deprived communities by educating and screening the public for signs of breast cancer while increasing community awareness to help downstage the disease at diagnosis.
BCI has also been expanding the availability of clinical and diagnostic breast examination while advocating for systemic change so that more women have access to quality care and treatment.
Although in a recently published research by the International Journal of Cancer on evaluating the impact of a breast cancer awareness program in Ghana, indicated that progress has been made in recent years in improving the knowledge, attitudes, and practices towards breast cancer among women who have been exposed to BCI outreach programs,
BCI Ghana continues to explore ways to enhance its service delivery to improve health outcomes of breast cancer and increase timely and access to quality healthcare services in Ghana.
